Link Bid Script continues to grow, not only in English our principal language but in a host of other languages including Polish, Hungarian, Romania and German. A big thank you goes to speakers of the aforementioned languages who help us translate phplinkbid script language file.

Nitram started the translation ball rolling with his translation of LBS to German, it was closely followed by Piescik who translated LBS to Polish. Tri lingual LBS Team member  Clau translated phplinkbid script to Romanian and Hungaria, not forgetting Zoli Bagi who also helped with the Hungarian translation.

The development team at Link Bid Script has long have the desire to make LBS available in as many languages as possible, the only problem is that we do not speak other languages fluently enough to do the translation ourselves.  Thanks to some very nice people we have a few translations, to date we we have Romanian translation, thanks to Mihai Popa, Hungarian translation, thanks to Zoltan Bagi. A few days ago, we have a German translation, thanks to Nitram .

He not only translated the German language file, which enables us to bring you the German version but he also created a new templates. He did not give a name to his template, its quite a dark template so it was christened the dark template.  You can find out more information about the dark template and where to download it should you want to use it fro this post.

In total, we have Link Bid Script in the aforementioned languages and English of course. We are looking for helpers to help translate it into more languages including French, Spanish, Portuguese and other major languages. If you can help translate LBS to any language at all, please get in touch.

The new German translation is available in LBS V1.5.2, which is the latest version the directory script. Unlike the English version, there is no pre-packaged German version. For does who need to run it in German, you need to download the English version, then the German language file, follow the language translation instruction which can be found here and you have a German version. This is the last post from team LBS for the year 2008. Firstly we wish you a happy Christmas and a prosperous 2009. Secondly, this is to let you know that we can LBS version 1.5.2 ready for you before we go on Christmas/new year holiday breaks.  Here are some of the things we fix/enhance in Link Bid Script 1.5.2

* We have replaced  all the remote URL FOPEN functions with CURL functions.
*  We have enhanced the stats for  Google, Yahoo, Alexa and MSN.
*  The backline url error reported has now been fixed.
*   We also corrected the function that verify whether a link partner actually linked back to you.
*  NEW!! now you can do a 3 way link exchange, you can request that link partner links to a 3rd party and not your LBS directory.
* We added TAGS for enhanced SEO friendliness and for enhanced search in your local LBS database.
*  We have laid the ground work for your Link Bid Script to be compatible with PHP6.
*  Now you can get your LBS directory script to auto approve from control panel (no need to edited base files).
*  If you have many LBS site, its now easy to know which one a link has just been submitted to.
* Sub directory function enhanced.
* Google map API enhanced
* CAPTCHA has been enhanced.

Some users running link bid script and WordPress has been reporting issues to do with .htaccess conflict. The best way to run both application on the same site without getting your hands dirty with editing .htaccess file is either to run Link Bid Script in the root folder of your hosting account and run WordPress in a sub folder or run WordPress in the root folder and Link Bid Script in a sub folder, that way, both applications works well eith their respective default .htaccess files.

This problem is cause primarily because WordPress implements global rewrite rules but LBS uses defined and filtered rewrite rules.  If you need help with  LBS/WP .htaccess issue, please visit our support forum and we will be able to assist you.

Team Link Bid Script has been busy updating LBS. The version we are working on at the moment is V1.5.  All the updates has been done, we are currently testing it to ensure there is the minimum possible bugs in the software.
We listened to our users and made the changes requested. We also upgrade and enhanced many of the existing features in LBS, a good example of enhanced feature is the thumbnail image display facility. You can now swap the built in display for your preferred display easily.
